Boko Haram: You cannot defeat what you created — Fani-Kayode tells Buhari

"You cannot defeat yourself. You cannot defeat what you created. You cannot defeat what brought you to power. You cannot defeat those whose sinister and nefarious objectives you espouse, motivate, defend, peddle and share.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode
Former Minister of Aviation and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s threat against Boko Haram insurgents for k*lling Reverend Lawan Andimi, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, as an empty threat.

Recall that Buhari had condemned the murder of Reverend Lawan Andimi, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, by Boko Haram terrorists, vowing that the insurgents will be made to pay a heavy price for the dastardly act.

In a series of tweets made public through his verified Twitter handle, @Mbuhari, on Tuesday, Buhari described the murder of the clergyman as barbaric, provocative and condemnable.

He said, “The terrorists k*lling of Lawan Andimi, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika, Adamawa State is cruel, inhuman and deliberately provocative.

“This barbarism is condemnable. We will ensure that these t*rrorists pay a heavy price for their evil actions.”

But Fani-Kayode in a post on his official Facebook page said it is not possible for Buhari to defeat himself because he created the Boko Haram insurgents.

He wrote, "The Buhari administration saying "we will defeat Boko Haram" is like Hitler saying "we will defeat the Nazis". It is like Bin Ladin saying "we will defeat Al Qaeda".

"It is like Al Baghdadi saying "we will defeat ISIS". It is like Soleiman saying "we will defeat the Quds Force and Hezbollah".

"It is like Pol Pot saying "we will defeat the Khmer Rouge". It is like Stalin saying "we will defeat the Red Army".

"You cannot defeat yourself. You cannot defeat what you created. You cannot defeat what brought you to power. You cannot defeat those whose sinister and nefarious objectives you espouse, motivate, defend, peddle and share.
