Enahoro: Are you the real Buhari or someone else? Fani-Kayode asks

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has been caught red-handed committing an egregious goof, in the recent presidential pardons announced for five Nigerians.

Anthony Enahoro, one of the posthumous beneficiaries who was jailed for treasonable felony by the Balewa government in September 1963 did not need the pardon.

Enahoro was pardoned almost 54 years ago by the Gowon administration.

The pardon was gazetted on 12 August 1966 after it was signed by Lt.Colonel Yakubu Gowon, the head of state on 2 August 1966.

Gowon signed the instrument of pardon as “Head of the Military Government, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Nigeria”.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, a former minister of aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, wonder if President Muhammadu Buhari has lost his memory or the man in Aso Rock is not the actual person Nigerians voted for as president.

He wrote, "President Muhammadu Buhari, you say you have given a "pardon" to Chief Anthony Enahoro forgetting that he was pardoned by General Yakubu Gowon in 1966 and appointed Minister of Information immediately thereafter.

"After he passed away in 2010, President Goodluck Jonathan did him the honor of giving him a state burial. This is the man that you say you are "pardoning" today.

"Forgive me but I am constrained to ask, what on earth is wrong with you? You no longer appear to be yourself. Have you lost your memory?

"Are you the real Buhari or are you someone else? Is there ANYONE in your Government that has ANY brains or knows ANY history?

"Worse of all is the fact that in your first coming in 1983 you jailed Professor Ambrose Alli for 100 years for NO just cause and the poor man ended up dying in prison like so many others. Today, which is 37 years later, you have the nerve to say that you have "pardoned" him for a crime that he never committed?

"Mr. President, permit me to assure you that you will answer to God for the blood of Ambrose Alli and all the other great men and women that you sent to an untimely death when you were military Head of State.

"You will also answer to God for all those that have been murdered and subjected to the most cruel form of humiliation and persecution under your watch over the last 5 years.

"Their spirits and souls testify against you in the throne room of Heaven and their blood cries out to God for vengeance!
