I received threatening calls for speaking against 5G network in Nigeria, says Melaye

I have received 2 international calls threatening me and warning me to back off the 5G issue. I was told by the last caller that 5G is bigger than Presidents of nations so i should stop. And i told him it is not bigger than God. I am not killable by man.

A former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has claimed that he has been receiving threats for calling on the federal government to reject the launch of the 5th Generation (5G) network in the country.

Recall that Melaye had told President Muhammadu Buhari to publicly reject the launch of the 5th Generation (5G) network.

He claimed that the 5G is a global economic strategy introduced into the global market purely for economic gain without due regards to human lives.

The lawmaker in a tweet on Sunday, to stated that he has received two threatening calls from international numbers due to what he said.

He tweeted, "I have received 2 international calls threatening me and warning me to back off the 5G issue. I was told by the last caller that 5G is bigger than Presidents of nations so i should stop. And i told him it is not bigger than God. I am not killable by man.

Meanwhile, the spread of the conspiracy theory linking the COVID-19 to the roll out of 5G networks has been described as "complete rubbish" and "biologically impossible." There theories have also been branded "the worst kind of fake news" by NHS England Medical Director Stephen Powis.

Professor of paediatrics at the University of Bristol, Adam Finn, said it would also be impossible for 5G to transmit the virus.

"The present epidemic is caused by a virus that is passed from one infected person to another. We know this is true. We even have the virus growing in our lab, obtained from a person with the illness. Viruses and electromagnetic waves that make mobile phones and internet connections work are different things. As different as chalk and cheese," he says.

To better describe the position of 5G in the electromagnetic spectrum, a graphic representation which can be seen below, was shared by the BBC.

The graphic places 5G way below visible light, suggesting that light from the sun has a higher chance of causing damage to the human body compared to 5G.

However, despite evidence disproving claims linking covid-19 with 5G, high profile Public figures like former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and former Senator Dino Melaye, not only fell for it, but continue to hold on the theory, causing their followers to be obsessed with the new technology.
