The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, has ordered kiIIer herdsmen occupying some communities in the region to leave otherwise they will regret what will befall them.

The spokesman of the Union, Luka Binniyat, issued the warning in an interview The PUNCH on Monday when asked to react to claims made by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, that "all forest in the country belongs to Nigerians."

Reacting Binniyat said, "Presidential Aso villa Abuja belongs to Nigerians, let the governor of Bauchi go and tell his relations to move there and live. The FCT and Bauchi State belong to Nigerians, why was he officially allocating lands as the FCT minister and signing Certificates - of- Occupancy when anyone could as well as just occupy any space he wanted."

"Is that how he runs Bauchi State? You see, when it comes to bigotry and favoritism, sentiments becloud their reasoning. Ondo forests and indeed all Nigeria forests are not without owners. Anyone doing any form of business there with no permission is trespassing and as such is breaking the law."

"And I want to use these opportunity to inform all the evil men that have chased out our people from their communities and are living there under the power of their guns and protected by powerful persons with backward believes like that of the governor of Bauchi State, that we shall get back these lands by any means."

"Yes, we shall retake our lands legally or by any other means. It is in their best interest to leave now before they do so at a great cost to themselves. It is a matter of time."
